She helps clients conceptualize, define, and actualize new ideas for grant opportunities and partnerships, and is adept at translating complex social, political, and historical information into easily understandable language for lay audiences. Candace is also a skilled facilitator who regularly leads organizational and programmatic assessment and planning processes at local, national, and international levels. She is the author of a book and many academic articles, dozens of successful grant proposals worth over $15 million dollars, and has led program design and development in higher and medical education.
Candace’s work with organizations and stakeholders across the nonprofit and education sectors has provided her with a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities these sectors face. Her prior work has included roles at Northwestern University, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, and Montreat College. Candace earned her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Northwestern University (2017) and has academic expertise in social and political history in the United States and Europe. Her academic training honed social analysis and narrative history skills that she puts to work every day to help nonprofits tell the story of the populations they serve and services they provide. Her years of experience designing systems-level trainings and educational interventions across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East have also served her well in helping nonprofits design and deliver effective programs that meet social needs and deliver results.
