Candace Kohli, PhD
President and Principal Consultant
Dr. Candace Kohli brings over 20 years of experience working in higher education, medical education, and with nonprofits. Trained as a qualitative researcher, Candace is highly skilled at social and systems analysis, and at communicating that analysis in compelling ways for a number of audiences. She is a skilled facilitator - a skill honed through 18 years of teaching in learning environments across the world. She regularly facilitates strategic planning and leadership development experiences for boards and executives as well as highly participatory group exercises designed to neutralize power dynamics, foster teamwork, and give all participants a voice. Her work with groups is built on the conviction that the latent knowledge and insights of all stakeholders in an organization create the conditions for flourishing.
Candace’s work with organizations and stakeholders across the nonprofit and education sectors has provided her with a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities these sectors face. Her prior work has included roles at Northwestern University, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and Montreat College. Candace earned her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Northwestern University (2017) and has academic expertise in the dynamic interplay of religious thought and social-political behaviors in the United States and Europe. Her academic training taught her to understand the interaction between people, ideas, behaviors, and social systems that she puts to work every day to help nonprofits increase the effectiveness of their work. Her years of experience designing systems-level trainings and educational interventions across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East have also served her well in helping nonprofits grow their capacity to design and deliver effective programs that meet social needs and deliver results.
